Randall M. “Randy” Deshotel is the eldest son of the five children of Bobbie W. Deshotel and Joella Fusilier Deshotel and the grandson of Adraste & Edmae Deshotel and Clarence & Evelyn Fusilier.

I am the father of 3 daughters – Sarah, a Physical Therapist in Lake Charles; Camille, an Occupational Therapist in Carencro; and Allison, an employee of Dow Chemical in Beaumont, Texas. All 3 daughters are married, and I have 4 grandchildren, 3 boys and 1 girl! I have held 3 jobs in my life: Director of Purchasing at Savoy Medical Center, Branch Manager of La. Land Bank in Opelousas and as Branch Manager of Citizens Bank in Mamou for 20+ years. I am a member of the Evangeline Parish Chamber of Commerce, a member of Savoy Indigent Patient Support, an Honorary member of the Vidrine Volunteer Fire Department, a member of the Mamou Rotary Club, past member of the Mamou Chamber of Commerce, past President and Treasurer of the La. Crawfish Farmer’s Assoc., director and member of the Evangeline Parish and La. Cattlemen’s Assoc., a past director of the International Brangus Breeder’s Association, and a past board member of the Savoy Medical Management Group (Savoy Hospital in Mamou).

My hobbies are attending the exhibitions of cattle across the Southern U.S., often helping to teach young people how to feed, groom and exhibit their own 4-H and FFA projects to the best of their abilities, so that they may learn the discipline and appreciation of quality it takes to be successful at such an endeavor, and working in my yard.

The histories of our families, towns and parish have always been of great interest to me. To have become custodian of these important records as the Evangeline Parish Clerk of Court is a dream come true. As a banker, it was rewarding when people asked me to help them with their personal finances and trusted me to do so. I now equally gratifying to help our Evangeline Parish citizens to learn their past histories or begin a new history with a land purchase, marriage, and birth records of their children, all the while trusting me to keep their records safe and secure.
